Kids love to decorate for Halloween and these are simple to make!
What you will need:
Cheesecloth
Liquid starch
Quart jar or soda bottle
Small balloon or Styrofoam ball
Black construction paper
Blow up the balloon to make a head, tie, and place it on top of the quart jar, or you can place a Styrofoam ball onto a liter soda bottle (stick a pencil into the ball and lower it into the bottle). Place the form onto a cookie sheet to catch drips.
Cut the cheesecloth into long enough sections to cover the form, and also to drape onto the baking sheet. Have your child pour the liquid starch into a large bowl. Dip the pieces of cheesecloth into the starch, wring out the excess and drape over the form. Lay several layers on top of each other and allow to dry
completely. When dry, pull out the form and cut out eyes from the construction paper, glue them on. The ghosties can then be hung from the dining room light or stand on their own on a table.
